Cafe de la Presse & Mason Pacific

Today, I didn’t have the opportunity to feel hunger. After a six dish course for one at my favourite dim sum place, I met up with my college friend at one of my favorite French cafes followed by drinks and oysters at Water Bar and then Mason Pacific.

Cafe de la Presse is awesome. The best hot chocolate ever. It’s so thick it is almost solid. Ive eaten Croque Madame all over the city and world and theirs is one of the best! Cheesy toast with a slice of cheese and a rich bechamel sauce. Perfectly cooked over easy egg. It’s a simple sandwich that’s hard to perfect and they’ve got it.

We also ordered tomato bisque and a salmon, both excellent. I recommend their steak frites and all their desserts.

Cafe de la Presse is located in the Hotel Triton on the corner of Bush and Grant. Rooms are all eclectic and believe different celebrities help design signature rooms. I’ve stayed a few times and that how I found Cafe de la Presse.

Everyone knows Water Bar. (Aqua Club International 2Q2013 Board meeting)

We continued on to dinner at Mason Pacific a newly opened and located on the corner of Mason and Pacific. Decor is simple but elegant

I forgot to photograph the amazing the salmon, wines and desserts. (Too much wine.) But here’s the aftermath. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Service was probably one of the best in a long time. Sit at the bar with Jose.

So full. So happy. 🙂

  1. Hey, are you back in Cali now? =)
Food looks great- dare I ask what was the damage? Haha. 🙂

Did you hear about Xanga’s impending doom,..I mean, changes/upgrades? Check my blog – I also sent you a PM on it.

    1. Back in SF for a baby shower. I’m the cook. 🙂 I didn’t know about xanga. I haven’t been on it in so many years. Would hate to lose all those old posts.

      1. How did they win you as the cook? What a deal! At least they are letting everyone archive their stuff for free.
I’ll be posting a work around to make sure your work remains online (if they survive to Xanga 2.0) in about a week.
