Kitchen First Aid for Burns

I don’t know where I picked it up but if you’re ever in the kitchen and burn yourself grab the soy sauce.  It’ll prevent it from blistering and minimizes the swelling.  I burned the crap out of myself yesterday.  I accidentally bumped the heating element in the heat lamp with my hand.  You could hear and smell the skin scorch.  Even the skin around the wound melted and was yellowish.  It was probably one of my nastier burns in recent years.

Dumped soy sauce and after about an hour a nice scab formed.  No blistering and today it looks a lot better considering how bad it had been.  There ends my dreams of being a hand model.  I wonder if it’s unattractive seeing a girl cover with battle scars from the kitchen.

Today, I made steamed buns, chinese five spice chicken, 5 loaves of lemon poppy seed bread and salsa from our garden.  Not bad for a gimp in the small prep station.037
